Yoga helped me make peace with my body. I’d love to help you do the same.

I came to yoga off and on over many years as one often does, but my practice deepened when I was looking for a way to find relief from fibromyalgia pain and anxiety. Yoga helped tremendously and through my practice I was able to find a way to begin to make peace with my body, beginning to love and respect it after years of disordered eating. I entered Yoga Teacher Training to deepen my practice and begin a journey toward myself. Along the way I discovered there is a great need for teachers that look like me and who understand how to do yoga in a larger body with limited ability.

My teaching philosophy

I teach from the perspective that any body can do yoga, and that we do not need to force the body into a particular pose, but we can find the variation of the pose that fits your body whether it is on a mat, chair, bed or against the wall. My goal is to help you use yoga as a vehicle of transformation—physically, mentally and emotionally.

Sharing my passion

I have assisted in Yoga Teacher Trainings, offering modules on Chair and Adaptive Yoga and have mentored new yoga teachers as they experience their training. I lead workshops on how to make yoga accessible for all bodies as well as on the Yoga Sutras. I am available for these type of offerings at your studio upon request.

Chair Yoga with Jacquie Leaves You Warm, Cozy and Happy!

Jacquie’s mantra “yoga is for every body”
sets the precedent for any ability, disability,
size, shape, or weight.

Jacquie’s jovial personality lightens up the atmosphere
to combat intimidation or fear.
You’ll hear her cute little giggle
as she shares a story or
wiggles to strike a demanding pose.

In Jacquie’s chair yoga class,
you won’t be bored with the same ole poses.
She’s often composing new routines
and even coordinates song sequences.

Each session ends with relaxation and affirmations of positivity.
And you’ll hear her softly say,
“The light in me sees and honors the light that’s in you.
Namaste.”
